What music should people know?

Recently I was astounded that some of my students were unaware of who Eric Clapton is. I rummaged through my CDs at home and pulled out the Cream of Clapton CD. I played the opening bars of a few songs and they began to recognize some of his work. I think put it out there to approximately 400 friends. What artists should students know/recognize? What artists do students think an “older” generation should know about? Here are some of the artists an “older” generation feels the “younger” generation should know. Chime in on which artists you know. Who should be on the list that is not?

Medical Marijuana as a business

NJ just passed a law allowing medical Marijuana. It joined 13 other states to allow marijuana use for medical purposes. The question becomes how to regulate it. Each state is dealing with the use in different ways. There is the potential to tax and license people to distribute the marijuana.
