Medical Marijuana as a business
NJ just passed a law allowing medical Marijuana. It joined 13 other states to allow marijuana use for medical purposes. The question becomes how to regulate it. Each state is dealing with the use in different ways. There is the potential to tax and license people to distribute the marijuana. Read the article and comment about some of the problems and positives.

i think medical marijuana is a good thing because most people that use it a very ill and it can help them with their loss of appetite etc. i think that it would be a good think if it is strictly monitored and taken care of very well. and its not like there going down the street buying a bag and rolling a joint the marijuana comes in a pill form so its not that bad.

I believe the use of medical marijuana should be legal. If pot is used to help people’s appitite when on keemo then the medical marijuana buisnesses should be held with the same respect as other pharmacutical companies as long as they are operating legaly and aren’t selling to anyone without a perscription.

I think that although the use of medical marijuana is becoming more liberal, the business that surrounds it of distributing it is going to be much more strict because it\\\’s going to be heavily taxed and regulated. In the article, DeAngelo says that the business of distribution of medical marijuana is not something to get into if you\\\’re interested in making a lot of money.

I think that if they are going to give it to a patient that they should have a backround check and have to be under spervision when they have to take the drug and if they are found to be handing it out for money then they should be fined and prosecuted heavily.

There are positives and negatives to medical marijuana. The positive is that in the situation that a person may need it for health reasons it may be useful. However i am opposed to it because of the many negatives. for example, it is something that people get arrested for daily in the united states being legalized for certain people in certain states. another major problem is that it is supporting the growth of the illegal plant and that is not right. therefor medical marijuana shouldn’t be allowed because it has more problems than positives.

After reading this article I do beleive that marijuana should be sold for medical purposes on a non-profit basis. I think government would be able to control quality and pricing it would be far less offensive than what the pharmacutical compaines charge. Also if people want it they will be able to get it so why not monitor it? If it is for legal medical purposes I do not see much of a difference than the sale of painkillers. I thought the name of the school teaching courses on hot to sidpense marijuana was original, Oakside + Amsterdam= Oasksterdam University.

There are many positives and negatives about medical marijuana. I believe there are more positives than negatives. Medical marijuana can help people with all different kinds of illnesses. One is cancer. It gains back the ability to eat and gains strength. A positive for the country is that it can be taxed and payed for. The country basically makes a profit off of whats being sold. Another good point is that it is becoming less of a mystery. Investigators have let sellers go and stopped snooping around on why they are selling. For the people using the medical marajuana, they are losing money because of taxing. A good thing about it is that people are becoming more open to the idea and not hiding as much when they see the word medical marajuana. If its helping people I believe it should be used.

i dont think it would be a good idea for people to be able to distribute it. it would be good if doctors did and used it medically. but otherwise its not a good idea. people are gonna abuse this and sell it illegaly and make money from it. its going to be a brand new business

I dont think it is a good idea for marjanuna to become legal. Many people will try to get it without a real medical need. It will only cause problems. Such as how good it has to be and who can be a lincesed vendor.

after reading the artical, i do believe that medical Marijuana is a good option for people in severe pain. I think of it as if you have cancer, glycoma, and other diseases and you wake up in the middle of the night in pain and you only have a little while to live you should just take it. It would lessen the pain and disscomfort of know your last days are coming to an end and also beign able to cope on a daily basis. In my opinion you should live your last days not worring about anything other then what or who you love.

I believe using medical marijuana should be legal. Medical marijuana would be use to help some one who needs it, but when it is going to be given out to that person should be watched while taking it and while on it.

Medical Marijuana is both good and bad. There is always the chances of over the counter drug dealing, but that goes for any drug. If this drug will help save lives then I don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t see why it shouldn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t be able to be used. There should be strict rules on who can prescribe it but it should be able to be prescribed.

I think it is not smart anyone in any state to have marijuana even if it is for medical reasons. If a person has to use it for medical reasons they should have to do it in front of the proper authorities they cant, just not take it and then sell it and make money. Look at all the problems in the US just because of marijuana, people are killed and injured because people use this drug and people who are allowed to use it for medical reasons can misuse it and hurt somebody. There this is not a good idea because of what could happen to innocent people.

i think that marijuana is illegal and that is how it should be. if someone is under sevre pain and really needs it then the doctor should subcribe it only if it is nesscary. there are really no positives to it, at least that is what i think. people would take advantage of it and use it as an excuse. therefore it should always be illegal.

I thinks its a good idea. But there is always a chance that a docter will start distibuting it illegal… whether its friends or patients. I think that someone very trustworthy should hold it and then the doctor would have to tell them about the patient that needs it. so no one gets this marijuana by mistake. it could help people in hospitals that really need it but if it ends up in the wrong hands it will be on the streets all over again.

i think they’ve got to be careful about how they start using it in the hospitals, and only give it to the patients that really need it the most. after it starts getting controlled then they can start bringing more in and regulating it and giving it to more people

i think marijuana should be illegal anywhere no matter what, someone could get high and kill someone, freak accidents happen, and making it legal is so dumb because now people can have an excuse to have it and not even get trouble, anyone can lie and say that they have and illness and they need it when they really don\’t, plus this would also increase the number of drug dealers, not good.

I completely agree with austin because this is just going to give more reason to the people who use it illegaly to get a fake lisence or something to use it in a bad way. people have fun in other ways, getting high isnt necisary!

i think that if it will help someone. it should be legal but only under a prescription. people would take advantage of it. They should check their back round info first. The doctors would need to make sure they are actually need it.

I think it is an ok law but the people running medical marijuana companies should be extra carfull with checking who they sell it to. I also think when they subscribe it to someone they should explaine the risk and saftey percaussions to them

It’s a good idea for people in severe pain..But some people might abuse the privilage of having it. Doctors should only subscribe for the right reasons and not distribute it out for other purposes.

Even though this could be put to good use, there is always someone that is going to take advantage of this privilege. I don’t think that this is a good idea, it would only make people less careful while doing it, because they wont be afraid of getting in trouble by the law. This whole thing is just not a good idea

I agree because if it helps people. A lot of older people use marijuana for eating disorder purposes, so if it helps people than it should be legal.

(i was also Kristabee1995 by the way) and i think marijuana should be illegal. the dangers of using this drug is existential and when you release it to the public as \’okay sometimes\’, as in medical use age people will take advantage and it becomes hard to regulate. we can find/ have other medicines that can work just as well.

I don\\\’t feel stongly about the situation one way or another. If it helps the person then it is doing its job. I feel that it only becomes a problem if the person who was helped by the drug then becomes addicted to it. But, becoming addicted to the medication can really happen to anyone with almost any medication so I think that it can be legal since it is helping people get better.

Marijuana has its effects. There are people out there who would do anything to get it. It should be there available for the people who need it. Its just the trust a doctor has for its patients.

I feel like marijuana has both good and bad sides and i feel like it should be legal but only under certain cirrcumstances. I think that iif it is to help somebody because they are seriously ill then i feel like it would be a very good thing for them to be able to use the drug to get back their appetite and take away some of the pain. I also do feel like if marijuana was legalized then it could fall into the wrong hands and very bad things could result from this. I think marijuana should be distributed to people who really need it and be strictly monitered so it doesnt fall into the wrong peoples hands.
