It sounds disgusting, but really cool. Can you do this with like, human poop? Then we could power a lot of other places like homes and businesses. It would lower fossil fuel levels, would be eco-friendly, and a total money saver! Not only did Mr. Saylor come up with the idea, but he put it into action.

  2. esousa2012 Says:

i think its pretty interesting on how he figured out how to turn the poo into electrical power and on a farm that could mean a lot of power saved. considering he saved 200k i think that his invention would probably be widely used. not to mention his farm smells better

  3. Brandon Bembridge Says:

Im personally not a big fan of useing poop for electricity but if it works for this farmer good for him i have no idea how he came up with this idea of useing poop of all things but yet again it saves him $200,000 thats a handful of money so yet again hats off to this guy

  4. Melissa Heffernan Says:

I believe this is a very intelegent way to help the enviorment and save money. Using the energy left in com manure is a very good way to save electricity as well as save thousands of dollars on electricity. If more people did this, there would less use for electricity and a more productive way to get rid of com droppings

  5. alanna scicolone Says:

i think that its impossible, because i dont think you can turn manure into electricity

  6. Zack Galper Says:

wow i think that is so cool. doing something like that all over the world would be great for the environment and the future generations to come. the best part is that he isn’t wasting anything because he is using everything. i like that even though Saylor accomplished such a great feat by recycling cow manure he feels as if he isn’t done with his goal. it is so great that he is now planning to use extra and wasted vegetable oil as biodiesel fuel. so, in the end, this man is attempting to make this world a “greener” place and i think that everybody who has the chance should make an attempt like him.

  7. John Costanzo Says:

I think that Shawn Saylor is a smart, creative man. I think it\\\’s also amazing that he\\\’s also producing enough energy and manure to sell back to the community.

  8. paul marconi Says:

I think this guy is very smart. People who own farms and cows should start thiking about other ways to save enegry or find new usable forms. This guy is already saving alot of money just by using cow manure. People all around the world should do this becuase we would save alot of enregry and now we have something to do with all of the cow manure that we have.

  9. Frank DeMuro Says:

I think that this is pretty cool but strange and I\’m not quite sure on how it makes a FARM smell better.

  10. Alyssa Miraglia Says:

I think it\’s fascinating that you can make energy out of cow menuer and save as much as he did. I think that everyone should start doing it even though it is very disgusting it saves a lot of money and I think everyone could use that in this economy.

  11. Mary Adeyeye Says:

This is actually kind of cool but weird and kind of gross. If it saves him money why not but I want to know if he has workers do that or machines or does he do it himself.

  12. kieran firth Says:

i think that its good that he can turn waste into an energy sourcre and it helps save money and saves waste removal

  13. Alex Vetere Says:

I think this is nasty, but a very smart way to help the environment. We can save power and fossil fuels. This would also save a lot of money, that people could use to better other things.

  14. Robert Merson Says:

I think it’s interesting that energy can be made like that. Although it does sound a little gross but efficiant none the less. I just can’t beleive no one thaught of this sooner. Especially since its very cheap.

  15. Adam Montesinos Says:

i think this guy is a very smart man because he found somthing like cow poop which he used to make electrisity.

  16. Olivia Tarone Says:

i think that people should start using this technique becuase it could help save alot of money, but i dont understand how farms could smell goood.

  17. Allie O'Mara Says:

I think it’s really really gross that he’s making energy out of cow menuer. It’s really smart and well thoughtout, but it is still very disgusting. If other places started using cow menuer as energy, the smell would be gross.

  18. Nicole Shannon Says:

Personally I don’t like anything that has to do with waste. I wouldn’t ever want to work on one of those farms, but hey go for it! Money and gasses and fossil fuels and all those are always a problem some how or another. This guy obviously knows his sh*% (haha) So i say do your thing, just keep it away from my house.

  19. carmela rigaglia Says:

I think that he has the right idea about saving money. i like how he used something like menuer, that was already supplied for him on his farm …. to save money. i think that everyone should start thinking about things they have already to make energy… if everyone does this i would think our economy would get better.

  20. tonylaguerre Says:

i give him a lot of credit for figuring out a way noone would ever think of to make electricity and save himself tons of cash. still not sure how he figured out how to do it but if it worked for him then maybe it could help a bunch of people too

  21. Austin Schultz Says:

wow i think is awesome, because it could save a lot of energy, but who knows if this is even true it could be a lie you never know, but its good that he got to save money from it, maybe in the future everyone could use cow manure it would save a lot of money for people and people need money these days.

  22. Fiorella Delatorre Says:

That’s crazy, I don’t think this is possible. menuer into electricity ? sounds crazy to me… also how can cow menuer make the farm smell better ? none of this makes any sense.

  23. Victoria Scarchilli Says:

I think that if it saves energy, takes away the smell of the farm, and gives energy to a few houses with some energy left over, then what would anybody care? If you didn’t use the manure for that.. it would just be… sitting on the ground? Why not use it to make energy.. nothing bad comes of it.

  24. Shannon Clifford Says:

This is a great way to save money, and it seems very efficient for farms. Even though it seems very unsanitary to use cow manure as energy, it seems to be working, so it really shouldn\’t matter how the energy is produced. This guy seems very smart, most farms should start doing this if it seems to be working out well.

  25. kieran firth Says:

I think that it is a good idea he basicly gets electicity for free and its not as dangerous as nuclear power plants and it not bad for the enviorment. In my opinion more people should move to this if they are in the right situation.

  26. Kristen Comilloni Says:

the fact that cow manure can possibly be turned into energy is crazy, but if it works why not? I’m sure we can save money and electricity but using this, and it obviously wont run out anytime soon. As long as I’m not the one shoveling it, sure why not?

  27. Andrew Smith Says:

Ive actuslly heard of this before. it was a couple years ago though and i saw it on the show “dirty jobs”. Im pretty sure they were doing the same thing…
Its a really good idea, whoever came up with it, plus its pretty much a renewable resource.

  28. Brittany Freifeld Says:

that sounds really gross. but if it works they should go for it. it would save a lot of money. and it will also save the environment. I am personally big on saving the environment so they should defiantly try it. It’s good to try new things

  29. Emma Nan Nygard Says:

Disturbing, but also interesting to know that manure could do such a thing! This farmer is very smart to even come up with the idea rather than having it work!

  30. Patrick mckiernan Says:

I think its a great idea, i mean there is nothing wrong with helping the environment. Also its a lot better better for the man because he dosent have to deal with the smell. People should take his idea and improve it and use it regularly.

  31. Ferdinand Trashaj Says:

I really like this idea. Its a new way to create energy without harming the environment or animals. It is cheap and it is a good way to get rid of the manure from the cows which would just pile up and be re-fertilized into the ground. I think this is one of the first steps to helping america become independent on fueling our electricity.

  32. Brittany R. Says:

I think that is very disgusting but smart. It\’s saving alot of money which is good. I dont understand how farms could smell good.

  33. Brianna Marji Says:

I think that using this for energy, is actually a very good use. There is really no other use for this, and it helps save money, and energy, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

  34. Bailey Lema Says:

i think its an awesome way to conserve energy, and the project also pays for itself witch is amazing. Also it does n` t just help them it helps there neighbors energy which is nice for them. Its overall good for the environment and for the farm owner.

  35. jackietino Says:

I think it\’s really nasty how he figured that out, like how do people come up with this. lol. But it\’s interesting how something like that can be made into something very useful and great for saving a lot of his money, and can definitely help him and more people. Its cool how it helped his farm smell better… but i don\’t understand how, but whatever. i think it\’s good.

  36. Kristen Mason Says:

This is a really cool idea even though it is also somewhat gross at the same time. Its a smart idea considering that the manure has to go somewhere anyways so its a good thing that it can be used in a beneficial way. Its also good that there isn\’t such a bad smell from all of the cow manure. It would be interesting to see if other livestock\’s manure could be used in the same way like this cow manure.

  37. Alanna Scicolone Says:

i think its cool how manure can be transferred into electricity. i think its cool because it saves alot of energy, and saving alot of energy is saving alot of money

  38. jada Draffin Says:

if it saves energy and doesnt smell then why would ppeople care. if you cant notice then what does it matter. in my opinion just use it for enery and electrcity.

  39. Michael Scodes Says:

Thats disgusting, but awesome! Cow poop for power to make really anything work. This is genius!

  40. Jessica Rossi Says:

this is disgusting but if it helps to save money i guess its for a good cause.

  41. Robin Says:

This just shows one of the many ways people are being innovative and finding new ways to be earth friendly and help our invironment.

  42. Kerri Mahon Says:

I think that its pretty amazing that this guy figured out how to use cow manure to create electricity. I think that because it stops the smell, and gives energy to many different home i don’t see any bad thing with what hes doing. If he has a creative way to create energy that is helpful for him then i dont see why he shouldn’t keep on doing it, its not like hes hurting the animals and hes helping out many people.
