News Around the World Assignment

TASK:

• Read an article on an international event each week in one of the US Newspapers.
• Find an article on the same topic in one of the world newspapers.
• In an article summary, compare and contrast the way the issue is reported in the two areas.
• HINT:  go to the newspaper of the area the issue is centered around.
• You must read an article from each area of the world.
• The articles should be one from each week.  This is a Six Week Project.

ARTICLE EVALUATION:

• What is the international issue about?
• How does it effect the US? the area it takes place in? the world?
• How was the reporting in the two areas similar?  Different?
• How does this international issue effect your life now? in the future?

FINAL PROJECT CONTENTS:

• copies of the US Newspaper article and its corresponding international article
• At least SIX international articles and SIX US articles (one from each region)
• At least SIX typed evaluations.
