The Hiroshima Peace Museums |

In the Hiroshima Peace Park are two museums. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for Atomic Bomb Victims.
The
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum centers around facts about the atomic
bombing and the abolishment of nuclear weapons and the establishment of
world peace. There are two main buildings the East and West Buildings.
The East Building centers on Hiroshima before August 6, 1945 while the
West Building focuses on the story of the bombing. The museum opened in
1955. The entire museum can be toured on line at its website. Some of
the interesting artifacts on display in the museum are can be viewed from

Hiroshima
National Peace Memorial Hall for Atomic Bomb Victims was established to
honor and mourn the loss of life in Hiroshima and Nagasaki due to the
atomic bombs. The Memorial Hall in Hiroshima has sites that focuses on
the individual victims and world peace. It also concentrates on collecting
memoirs of survivors as well as the names and photographs of victims to
be kept permanently in the hall. The museum has a library, a Hall of Remembrance,
and a Victim's Information Area. Three of the areas are linked below.
