The Wisconsin quarter was the 30th
state quarter to be released by the U.S. Mint. Wisconsin became a state
on May 29th 1848,
and the Wisconsin quarter was the 5th one to be released in the year
2004. Governor McCallum chose the design of this quarter after a statewide
vote. On the state quarter of Wisconsin you will see a cow, a round of
cheese and an ear of corn. It is important in the state of Wisconsin
because it shows how much of a dairy state it is. Wisconsin farms also
grow a lot of corn. You will also see the state motto ‘forward’.
This means Wisconsin is always trying to be a national leader. |
