Harvard Results -- February 17-20, 2006

Three Lakeland District Debate teams finished with winning records at the prestigious Harvard Invitational tournament held on February 17-20, 2006. Seniors Jason Anton & Jackie Maurano, seniors Ben Faber and Pam Johnson, and sophomores Jason Wright and Joanna Tsao all finished with 5-3 records. Out of 230 teams representing 57 schools and school districts from 27 states, Jason and Jackie finished 52nd, Ben and Pam finished 53rd, and Jason and Joanna finished 65th. Only one other sophomore team in the tournament (Greenhill, TX) finished higher than Jason and Joanna. Sophomores Adam Dishaw and Taylor Roth finished with a 4-4 record and in the top 100. Juniors Joe Perotto and Joe Spanier were also 4-4. Freshmen Andrew Bococsky and Mackenzie Carroll, who competed almost over their heads in the varsity division of the tournament, finished with an impressive 3-5 record.
